Students begin by mastering two-digit number representation and reading bead values with confidence. They then progress to two-tier, three-tier, and four-tier calculations, helping them perform longer calculations with greater speed and precision.

One of the major highlights of Level 2 is learning the Positive and Negative Complement (Small Friend) techniques—professional Abacus strategies that enable children to solve complex additions and subtractions quickly without hesitation. These shortcut methods reduce finger movement, improve mental visualization, and prepare students for advanced mental arithmetic.
